TEMPE, Ariz. — A now-viral video posted by the Tempe Police Department shows two officers completing a Grubhub order after the original delivery driver was arrested during a traffic stop.
The moment, caught on video and shared across the department’s social media platforms, shows the officers arriving at a customer’s doorstep, pizza in hand, ready to explain the unusual circumstances. “Hello,” the surprised woman says after opening her door to the uniformed officers. “How are you doing?” one officer asks. “Good. How are you?” she replies.
After verifying the name on the order, the officer tells her, “So your Grubhub guy got arrested, so we still delivered your pizza.”

The customer’s reaction says it all. Her mouth drops open in disbelief. But appreciation quickly follows: “I really appreciate the pizza,” she says. “It still should be warm,” the second officer adds with a smile.
Tempe police posted the clip with the cheeky caption: “When your GrubHub driver gets arrested ... Tempe Police delivers.”
In a follow-up post on X (formerly Twitter), the department wrote: “When a delivery driver was arrested during a traffic stop, our officers made sure the pizza still got to the customer. The order was Hot-N-Ready and the suspect was Caught-N-Steady. We’re committed to serving our community 24/7 — whether it’s safety or pizza delivery!”
The driver was arrested on charges of reckless driving and racing, police said.
